JASON HEYWARDHere’s another reason to be envious of Major League Baseball players… free golf clubs. Throughout the 2010 season, Callaway will be sending a full set of its new Diablo Edge golf clubs to any MLB player who hits a home run farther than 470 feet. Atlanta outfielder Jason Heyward will be the first player to receive free golf clubs from Callaway hitting a 476-foot blast in his first Major League at-bat at Turner Field.

“We are happy to send him the first set,” said Callaway Golf Dir of Communication Tim Buckman. “We’re simply looking to get our new Diablo Edge clubs into the hands of athletes who would appreciate and make the most of the distance benefits they deliver.” The promotion, not affiliated with MLB or the MLBPA, is part of Callaway’s effort to “grow the game and attract more athletic and aggressive athletes to golf,” said Buckman. “Callaway has always looked to bring more people to the sport,” Buckman said, “and this is another step in that direction.”

Wow. Giving the rich free golf clubs that they can easily afford while I’ve been saving money for a year and still cant afford a new set of clubs.
