


As anyone who is passionate about the game of golf knows, much of what happens on the course often seems to be controlled by a higher power. Despite our best efforts, it’s not uncommon to feel like the Golf Gods are in dictating the results and we’re just along for the ride.
That’s why the message behind “…And Then God Created Golf” made good sense to me. This book is filled with inspirations to improve your game and your life. If there is an audience that needs more inspiration, I sure haven’t found it. In fact, after a few bad swings to start a round, most of us are praying for some sort of inspiration to turn our game around.
“…And Then God Created Golf” is filled with helpful hints and tips that can actually most amateur golfers. Many of the humorous anecdotes are from legendary professionals such Billy Casper, Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez and Arnold Palmer. These players have forgotten more about the wonderful game of golf than most of us will ever learn. The notion that these icons of the spot can find the true meaning and happiness in the game can give the rest us a clearer understanding of why we play this sport.
The book is an easy to read compilation of short chapters about many of the individual components of the game such as putting, the short game, playing out of hazards and hitting recovery shots. Additional topics cover the importance of fundamentals, handling adversity, sportsmanship and golf etiquette.
British Open Champion Tom Lehman appropriately wrote the foreword to this spiritual book.
