aboutGolf, the world leader in indoor golf simulator technology, has announced the release of TPC Sawgrass, now exclusively available for the company’s PGA TOUR Simulator as part of its partnership with the PGA TOUR.
With the upcoming PLAYERS Championship being played May 6-9 at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, aboutGolf simulator owners will be able to play the course along with the world’s best professionals.
TPC Sawgrass is part of the TPC Collection, which also will include the TPC Louisiana and TPC Scottsdale, both of which will be released in late 2010 or early 2011. All 18 holes at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at Sawgrass—including the world-renowned 17th-hole island green—are fully 3D rendered, which is critical to realistic play.

aboutGolf’s PGA TOUR Simulators use the latest in machine vision technology and golf-software design. aboutGolf’s graphics lead the industry, featuring highly-detailed terrain, reflective water, varying weather conditions, tee signs that can be read, and moving clouds, grass and flags that blow in the direction and intensity of the wind.
aboutGolf’s course data is based on Global Positioning System (GPS) information and photographic survey data enabling rendering accuracy to within two inches. Orthographic photography is used to determine accurate positioning of trees, structures and other landmarks. An average of 2,500 photographs taken at key locations on each hole form panoramic references for accurate course recreation. CAD plans provided by the course architect are also used to ensure careful attention is given to achieving the architect’s original vision.
