What does it take to have a proper golf grip? Here are the quick steps to position your hands correctly on the golf club.
With your left hand, you want to see the crease between your thumb and index finger point somewhere between your right cheek right ear area. When you put your right hand on the same crease between your thumb and the index finger of your right hand should point in the same area.
The next step is up to your personal preference. You can either interlock your hands, overlap or have all ten fingers on the grip. Most modern golf professionals prefer that you either interlock or overlap.
Once your grip is set, make sure that when you open up your hands, you can see that the grip lies somewhere in the fingers on a slight angle. This will help you generate both creases pointed up towards your right ear for a neutral straight grip.
You now have a solid, neutral grip from which you can build a consistent, repeating golf swing.
