Titleist recently introduced the next evolution of Scotty Cameron Champions Choice Limited Release putters, unveiling four new “Button Back” models. These models, which enhance the possibilities of Scotty’s “Plus” designs, incorporate his acclaimed Teryllium copper alloy inlay.
The putters, inspired by Scotty’s past creations for major winners and global professional golf tour champions, are precision milled. Each Champions Choice Button Back model uses synergistic materials – a solid precision milled 303 stainless steel putter head, a Teryllium insert expertly fused, and a lightweight aluminum sole piece – for an impressive performance and feel.
The Champions Choice graphics uniquely mark the continued and longstanding tradition of major champions utilizing Scotty Cameron putters. Four out of the last seven majors have been won by players using Scotty Cameron putters. These putters come with a new Pistolini Plus grip and custom headcover.
2023 Champions Choice Models
Starting Friday, July 28, the new Champions Choice putters, including the Newport Plus Button Back, Newport 1.5 Plus Button Back, Newport 2 Plus Button Back, and Newport 2.5 Plus Button Back (also available for left-handed players), will be available in selected Titleist golf shops worldwide. Each putter boasts a solid milled 303 stainless steel body and a soft Teryllium inlay. These are combined with Scotty’s latest vibration dampening technology and iconic button head machine screws.
Scotty Cameron comments, “Seeing the popularity of our initial Champions Choice release in 2021, I felt compelled to repeat it, but it had to be extraordinary. The introduction of our Super Select Plus models and the new blade shape’s popularity made it a logical decision to design unique Newport and Newport 2-style models for this seasonal launch. These new Champions Choice Plus Button Back models celebrate our putters’ victorious years with four new designs meant to perform as well as they appear.”
Four new Champions Choice models offer golfers two Plus-sized blade shapes, each available with either a plumbing neck or a jet neck, in 33″, 34″, and 35″ lengths. Each model demonstrates the combination of stainless steel, 6061 aircraft aluminum, and a unique copper alloy for a meticulously engineered putter featuring a solid, precision-milled 303 stainless steel body with a Teryllium inlay.
They also feature Scotty’s silver misting process for a reliable glare-resistant finish, translucent red, white, and blue accents around the machine screw heads, and the color scheme introduced in the first Champions Choice release. They come with matching premium headcovers, Pistolini Plus grips with blue lettering and white texture, and custom Champions Choice shaft bands.
Available worldwide from July 28, 2023, the new Scotty Cameron Champions Choice putter models can be found in select Titleist authorized golf shops. The suggested retail price is $700.
